Another Century Plant


Here's a closer view of a century plant. One of my favorite things about these plants is the impression left by outer leaves upon inner ones, before they grow and spread out. It's a subtle thing, and I tried to suggest it in this painting.

I've been thinking about that a lot lately. I have a show coming up on the first of March, so I'm busily getting ready for that, but once that's out of the way I thought I'd try a portrait.
