Guest Artist

My wife, Susan, finished this oil pastel just a day or two ago, but hasn't come up with a title yet. It would help if we could identify the flowers in the foreground. Any ideas?

What a beautiful painting! Those look like Texas Bluebonnets maybe?

It looks like a butterfly bush.

Beautiful work. I do soft pastels, used to do watercolor, and enjoy all your beautiful scenery.

Hey Cricket,

Thanks for the kind words, and the lead on an ID for the plant. We checked different varieties of bluebonnets and lupines, but nothing looked like these. I'll look up butterfly bush. Since the monarch butterflies winter here, there are lots of plants grown around here for them. This may be one of them.
